Washington’s East End offers a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, hotels, museums, and entertainment venues, as well as a variety of apartments and condominiums. The old convention center site, being redeveloped by Hines and Archstone-Smith, is just two blocks away. Once completed, CityCenterDC will have over one million square feet of office space, 674 housing units, 2,451 parking spaces, and 333,000 square feet of retail space, which will include distinctive restaurants and cafes, fashion and specialty retail, entertainment and performance venues, grocery/market foods, and neighborhood services. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2010.
